Suntsu Electronics has designed custom OCXOs for Silicon Lab ICs. Stratum 3E is an upgraded standard that accounts for SONET equipment requirements that are not available with a typical Stratum 3. It comes in a small SMD package that boasts low phase noise and complies to Stratum 3E GR-1244 and GR-253 cores.
These Stratum 3E OCXOs have been optimized for IEEE-1855v2 timing applications such as network synchronization clocks, coherent optic clocks, and jitter cleaners. SJX239 and SJX240 have different features despite being classified as Stratum 3E OCXOs.
Model SJX239 has an SMD package size of 25.4mm x 22.0mm with an output frequency of 10MHz using high-density CMOS (HCMOS). This model offers a frequency stability range of -40°C to 85°C between 0.1ppm and 0.5ppm with 10 years of aging. It also has a holdover period of 24 hours between 0.5ppb.
Model SJX240 has an SMD package size 25.4mm x 22.0mm with an output frequency of 10MHz using low voltage transistor transistor logic (LVTTL). This model offers a frequency stability range of -40°C to 85°C between 0.005ppm. It boasts a short-term stability Allan variance of 0.01ppb with an ultra-low jitter performance. These models can be used as the reference clock solution for Silicon lab Si5348/83/84/88/89, Si5371/72, and Si5392-97.
