Our favorite in-house doctor, KH Mun, deserves our utmost appreciation as this month’s team member spotlight. Mun is a Senior Engineering Manager at Suntsu and has been working in the industry for 24 years. As the head of engineering, Mun is a valued team member of Suntsu, appreciated for his intelligence, humor, and of course, his perfect hair.
Paging Dr. Mun
Although Mun is his last name, it is also our preferred name for him in the office. Alternatively, we can refer to him as “The Doctor” or Dr. Mun, as he holds a PhD. It seems only fair to acknowledge his achievement and address him accordingly. After all, it would be a waste of his academic credentials if we didn’t do so.
Mun had always dreamt of becoming a doctor, but unfortunately, he didn’t enter medical school. (Hint: check out his fun fact below for an explanation. 😉) Confused about what to do next, he decided to pursue a PhD and become a doctor in a different field. Eventually, he achieved his goal and now holds the title of Doctor.
In his free time, Mun enjoys playing golf, which is his favorite hobby. He makes sure to hit the green at least once a week, and sometimes even more! You can tell how much he loves the sport from the many photos we have of him playing golf.
Apart from golf, Mun also likes to stay fit by going to LA Fitness, watching Netflix, and tuning into European soccer games. He also enjoys spending time with his two daughters and is a proud owner of an adorable Pomeranian named Ella.
Career Story
Well, after not getting into medical school, I decided that I should try another major. I was always good at math and science, so I chose Electronic Engineering as it aligned better with my skillset.
It is important to comprehend the demands of the market and create products that meet those demands instead of creating products blindly. There are several instances where companies have developed excellent products, but unfortunately, there was no market demand for them, which ultimately resulted in their failure.
To always try to understand things from the other person’s perspective.
Choosing a career in engineering can provide a rewarding and stable future, where your work can have a significant impact on the world.
I guess I’d say that people have always told me that I don’t look like an engineer. I always hear that I look more like a salesperson than anything.
Maybe, haha. 😊
My work involves meeting diverse product demands and engaging with clients daily. There are always new challenges and opportunities to learn and grow, which keeps me engaged and motivated.
It isn’t just a job. It’s an environment that allows you to bond and build personal relationships with everyone, making every workday rewarding.

Thanks to Mun for being the backbone of our engineering department, being our favorite doctor, and managing to keep his hair in perfect style even with all his engineering duties!
