In 2021, Epson announced they will no longer be manufacturing their MA-306 crystal [1]. The MA-306 package reached end-of-life in 2021, and the SXT834’s matching 8.0×3.8mm footprint and 8–54 MHz range make it a direct fit for the lower-frequency, height-constrained designs the MA-306 served. While parts going obsolete isn’t a new concept, it doesn’t make it any easier for engineers who use these parts in their designs.
Fortunately, Suntsu has the perfect alternative to Epson’s MA-306 at a competitive price, which can solve your end of life issues.
Suntsu’s SXT834 series has the same dimensions and performance as the MA-306 making it the perfect drop-in replacement. It is an 8.0×3.8mm SMD package with frequencies ranging from 8.000MHz to 54.000MHz.
